Mounted bearings
A mounted bearing arrives inside a ready housing: alignment, sealing and shaft attachment are solved in one part. It bolts straight onto steelwork with no housing bore to machine — which is why it is the standard answer on conveyors and farm machinery.

Y-bearing units (UC / YAR / YEL)
A bearing with a spherical outside surface in a cast housing, locked to the shaft with grub screws or an eccentric collar.
Plummer block housings (SNL / SN / SAF)
Two-part cast housing used with a spherical roller or self-aligning ball bearing and an adapter sleeve. The bearing can be changed without the housing.
Flanged housings (F, FL, P, T)
Two, three or four bolt flanges for a face perpendicular to the shaft; the pillow block (P) type sits on a horizontal surface.
Stainless and composite housings
Replace cast housings on washdown food lines — resistant to water and cleaning chemicals.

- Environment
- Dusty, washdown, corrosive or outdoors — this decides the seal and housing material.
- Misalignment allowance and load
- On long conveyor shafts the alignment tolerance drives the choice.
