Super-precision bearings
Machine tool spindles must run true and quiet. Super-precision bearings are built for that: tight tolerance classes (P4, P4A, P2), a controlled preload and cage designs that keep heat down. They are not drop-in replacements for standard bearings — preload, mounting order and lubrication are designed together.

Precision angular contact (7xxx C / ACD / CD)
A 15° or 25° contact angle — the core spindle bearing. Supplied as matched pairs, triplets or quad sets.
Hybrid ceramic ball
Silicon nitride balls are lighter than steel — less centrifugal load and heat, a higher speed limit.
Precision cylindrical roller (N10xx, NN30xx)
High radial stiffness — usually the rear, floating position of the spindle.
Axial angular contact (BTM / BTW)
The precision type for the ball screw end — high stiffness, minimal axial play.

- Speed and n·dm value
- Cage material, ball type and lubrication method all follow from this figure.
- Required stiffness and preload class
- Light preload buys speed, heavy preload buys stiffness. You cannot have both.
- Matching arrangement (DB / DF / DT)
- Back-to-back, face-to-face or tandem — moment capacity and axial rating change with it.
- Lubrication
- Grease for life, oil-air or minimum quantity — this sets the speed ceiling.
